Crystal Text
Published in Paperback by Figures (December, 1987)

The Way Time Feels on MetalThis work is a record of a period of life spent in the presence of an object-a crystal which, writes Coolidge, "has thirteen facets" (as Coolidge's name has thirteen letters)and which comes to dominate Coolidge's reflections. Coolidge writes with humor and authority, and the verse evokes, at various times, a scientific investigation, a Kerouac-influenced stream of consciousness, and an absurdist collage. An excellent example of how contemporary poetry can remain vital by drawing inspiration from unlikely sources.

Crystal Wisdom for Love: Discover How to Bring Love and Romance into Your Life (Crystal Wisdom Mini Kits)
Published in Paperback by Charles Tuttle Co. (November, 1998)
Average review score:

basic infoThe 2 stones included in this kit are rose quartz & amazonite. The wheel that you "cast" the stones on for a reading uses different symbols than those included in the larger Crystal Wisdom Kit (3 wheels & 12 stones). The authors (UK) are releasing a new set with new wheels & 8 stones- 5 of which will be different from the large kit.

The Crystal Workbook: A Complete Guide to Working With Crystals
Published in Paperback by Sterling Publications (October, 1988)
Average review score:

great overview & learning toolThis UK-published workbook takes you through meditation, healing, chakras, psychic development, mediumship, astrology, divination, dowsing, gem elixirs(please note that many stones have trace elements that are toxic if ingested), & growing your own crystals. The text in the divination section was directly pulled from the author's book "Fortune-Telling with Crystals & SemiPrecious Stones" but there are NO photos on the inside covers although the text refers you. I bought the smaller book & made a color photocopy to tape inside. Her descriptions are extensive enough that if a stone is unavailable as listed, you could find a substitute based on color or association/meaning. The author offers a new correspondence course covering similar material "Working with Crystals"~ new website: Hypnothink Foundation

Crystalline Lasers: Physical Processes and Operating Schemes

With aAlthough I am hardly of a scientific mind (as least not in this league), I am an administrative assistant for the Research Center this man works in. World renowned for his work, many people carry around his writings like a Bible. Very comprehensive and authoritative.

Crystals and Light: An Introduction to Optical Crystallography
Published in Paperback by Dover Pubns (January, 1977)
Average review score:

Good for the AmateurThe first paragraph of the Preface is herein quoted:
"This is a book about the behavior of light in crystals. Since it is written for people with no previous training in either the subject of crystals or the subject of light, the first six chapters tell what sort of thing a crystal is and the seventh tells about some of its physical properties. The remaining chapters describe some of the effects produced on light, mainly polarized light, by crystals and so constitute an introduction to optical crystallography."
My copy of several years ago came with a piece of polarizing film; don't know whether this is still included, if not one can order a sheet from Edmund Scientific catalog. This little book is clearly, lucidly written for the student and the amateur.

Crystals the Journey Begins
Published in Paperback by ()
Average review score:

Crystals with PersonalityFrom the start, this book sets itself apart from the dry and tedious by telling the author's story of how he progressed from an unaware typical male to an informed crystal healer. It's a fascinating account of an awakening that took place over several years, leading to an in-depth knowledge of crystals, how to handle them, how to use them, and the esoteric knowledge that accompanies a full understanding of the power of the crystal. In a very short book Mr. Gardiner manages to include a detailed description of each crystal alphabetically arranged for ease of use, as well as a comprehensive guide to other esoteric areas of interest, such as meditation, divination, the aura, chanelling, dowsing and healing. This makes it a perfect beginner's book, but its charisma makes it an interesting read for all levels. No wonder it's in its third reprint!

A Dark kNight for the King : Book One of the Crystal Sword Series
Published in Paperback by PublishAmerica, Inc. (November, 2002)
Average review score:

Dark kNights AheadA great novel in which two brothers are pitted against each other by the dark forces determined to take both their thrones. Lleu, heir to the throne, is bullied by his brother for being weak, yet finds the courage to escape from prison when he is wrongfully incarcerated, and go in search of the last Crystal Knight. Along the way he is befriended by a rogue who just may have stepped into the past from our own world. The dynamics between Lleu and his bullying younger brother reveal two men who both have their kingdom's best interests at heart, yet cannot see eye-to-eye on how best to run it. Meanwhile, conniving forces are at work to steal the throne from both of them. This is a great alternate-history world, with all the right elements for a grand, High-Fantasy epic. And wait until you meet the ice giants! Big-budget movies couldn't do better than the words of the authors in creating some truly remarkable creatures.

A Dictionary of Linguistics and Phonetics
Published in Paperback by Blackwell Publishers (August, 1985)
Average review score:

David Crystal gets right to the pointthe book is especially useful when preparing for an examination, because it gives that kind of information you are looking for, by getting right to the point. Very helpful are the cross-references which can serve as guidelines for further searches. David Crystal gives detailed and exact definitions of the most important terms of linguistics and phonetics, but he neglects some of the key terminology of historical linguistics. Looking for definitions in this field of study, one should rather consult Hartmann / Storck:Dictionary of Language and Linguistics. However, particularly in the field of phonetics and phonology the book is an undefeatable source of information.
